I rarely write reviews, and I have no conflicts of interest in writing this one (since I’m a physician and received nothing from Cory to write this). I am writing this because I think honesty and accountability often goes unrecognized. Cory is the most trustworthy, honest, professional, and reliable person I have met through our two year long construction process working with many different individuals in different subcontracting roles. He stands in stark comparison to some other people we have met. Cory is the best person we have worked with during our entire home and garden remodel and reconstruction. He has given me honest advice that lowered our expenditure significantly, and effectively reduced the money he could have made on the project. This says a lot about someone’s character. He did not need to do this, but I think honesty is engrained in his being. He did demolition for our backyard where we had a large pool and lots of concrete. He was always easily available and responds right away. He takes the time to explain everything. He is very knowledgeable, even about gas and lines (since he worked in that field). He is prompt, professional, and he works great with our designers and other contractors. He never tried to upsell me. He spent time entertaining my ideas and told me solutions that would work. Cory took care of the permitting process for us, and made it very easy for us. His team did a great job. When he noticed some items outside of the scope of our agreement, he said he would just take care of it without asking for extra pay. When a gate was inadvertently knicked by equipment from his team, he took care of it at no charge. In fact, he repaired it to a state better than he found it. I think if more people were like this, then many people would have a different view of contractors and the pains of doing home renovation projects. Cory and his crew did an excellent job completely removing and backfilling our 65 year old pool. He kept us informed and updated throughout the two week project. Every step progressed just as he had laid out. His price was the most competitive of three bids and the job site was cleaned up back to normal before he requested final payment. We would HIGHLY recommend South Coast Demolition for any demolition project, but especially for pool removal and backfill. We have a very large permanent planter interfering with access to our backyard. Other companies said it had to be removed and later rebuilt, at great expense. But Cory, quite creatively, came up with a plan to get the job done without removing that planter. Cory also adjusted his work schedule to meet our personal needs. With how expensive utilities are getting I finally made the decision to get rid of the pool. I contacted Cory with SC demolition for their service. He knew the process from start to finish. He’ll take care of everything including the soil report. He worked 6 days. Soil engineer came to test the soil. A few days later I got final from the city. His worker broke my sprinkler.
